OSPF router stuck in Two way state – Is this a problem?

OSPF stuck in two way state – it is one of the favorite questions in the interview. But to know the possible reason for stucking in two way state, we must know what happens in the two way state. You can find the info on OSPF States.
First of all OSPF neighbors stuck in two way state is not a problem – If both routers are the DROther Routers). As we studied in above article, DROther routers always remain in TWO WAY state. However. there is a condition in which two routers are stuck in two way state instead of full state as per the expectation.
What is that condition lets find out by using lab :-
Lets check ospf status on both routers :-

R-1#sh ip ospf neighbor
Neighbor ID Pri  State    Dead Time Address    Interface
2.2.2.2      1   FULL/BDR 00:00:35  12.12.12.2 GigabitEthernet0/0
R-2#sh ip osp neighbor
Neighbor ID Pri State   Dead Time Address    Interface

Now lets change the priority on both sides to 0 :-

Router(config-router)#int gi0/0
Router(config-if)#ip osp
Router(config-if)#ip ospf pri
Router(config-if)#ip ospf priority

Now since both routers will have priority 0 and will not participate in DR/BDR election, they will stuck in 2-way state

R-1#sh ip ospf neighbor
